Jorge Pereira Country: Cape Verde Islands Jorge Pereira arrived on the scene just as Racing Guantanamo had need of a charismatic striker who would inject a sense of flair and artistry into the team. The Cape Verder Islander did just that, scoring some sensational goals in the 2008 indoor Broomedesliga season. The big man showed Guantanamo fans that the team had style, and quickly asserted himself as one of the Mighty Orange fan favourites. Pereira even managed to recruit his son Jarmon to play in a Guantanamo game, with the junior Pereira doing enough to gain a pre-contract from Guantanamo chairman Ryan Platten. Jorge Pereira lived the club motto of Crudus Orange Pro Excercitus and was sent off in grand style when he was forced to retire in late 2008.
